Space and Missile Systems Center Space Acquisition Challenge

Space & Missile Systems Center, US Air Force

Put your problem solving skills to the test by building a prototype ground support system for Air Force space operations. Can you stay on budget and deliver on time?

Students will learn how the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) manages complex space systems by taking on the role as a contractor tasked to develop a ground support system for the Air Force. Students will use their problem solving skills to build a prototype under cost, schedule, and technical constraints. They will learn about challenges faced by program managers, engineers, financial managers, and contracting officers as they plan and manage complex space systems and the importance of balancing cost, schedule, and system performance parameters.
