Make Your Own Pocket Solar System

Carnegie Institution for Science

Draw a model of the solar system that will show you how big the Universe is, but still fit in your pocket.

At our stand visitors will make their own scale model of the Solar System with an astronomer from the Carnegie Observatories. With a few simple folds of a long strip of paper, you'll get a chance to see the scale of the vast distances between the planets and learn about how we explore outer space. Our scientists are also on hand to answer any questions you might have about the Universe.
