DARPA’s Spectrum Collaboration Challenge

Defence Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA)

Come and see the Colosseum Tour of SC2, the world's largest wireless test bench which replicates any wireless environment.

Come and join a tour inside the Mobile World Congress Exhibition held upstairs above YoMo at the same time in the Los Angeles Convention Center where you will learn about DARPA’s Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2), an innovative prize competition that aims to completely change the way our wireless devices navigate the RF spectrum. Similar to the DARPA’s launch of the self-driving car industry, this challenge aims to bring autonomy to RF spectrum management using AI and collaboration.

Witness competing teams from academia and industry vie for nearly $4M in prizes at the SC2 Championship Event, the culmination of over three years of gruelling competition. Interact with Colosseum, the world’s largest wireless testbed specifically built for SC2 competition to replicate complex wireless environments. Explore the competition through hands-on demonstrations of the unique SC2 visualizations tools that allow us to see spectrum in a way it’s never been seen before.

SC2 is the latest Grand Challenge sponsored by DARPA, the U.S. military’s cutting-edge research and development agency. Responsible for sparking the creation of the Internet, GPS, voice-activated personal assistants, self-driving vehicles and much more, DARPA is no stranger to seemingly impossible challenges. Tour starts from the Information desk on the YoMo Show Floor.
