Through the experiences carried out by the young researcher Nicola Sabata, students will delve into CHINARE expedition. This exploration aims at studying the still-unknown Arctic Ocean. During the presentation, the researcher involved in the project will make participants understand how the biological, chemical and physical processes of this marine environment are investigated.
The role of phytoplankton microorganisms in the marine chemical cycles will be discussed. Moreover, attendees will discover why the ocean is a key agent in our environment by regulating the climate. Likewise, students will reflect on how the use of fossil fuels are contaminating the oceans.
